Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter

Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter

We have all had those moments when we wish we could jump into a helicopter and cruise over earth and sea without a care in the world; well, that’s almost exactly what the Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter does for you. It quite literally gives you ‘blades’ to fly off on. This 3 channel helicopter is equipped with some of the most advanced gyroscope technology which makes it the smallest, lightest and overall the best mini RC Helicopter on the market. At hardly 7.5 inches in length, it could fit quite snugly in the palm of your hand.

  • Features Gyroscope technology for auto stabilizing
  • Only suitable for flying indoors
  • 30′ approximant flight range

Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter

Small, but Powerful

The Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter measures barely 7.5 inches in length making it one of the smallest, yet most enjoyable of any helicopters available. Its width is also a miniscule 7.5 inches including the main rotors; while its height is only 3.8 inches measured from the bottom to the balance bar.

Despite being a tiny helicopter, this model is a powerful flyer. It can fit into the palm of your hand, but still fly an impressive range using wither the USB cable or a fully functional remote control which runs on 2 AA size batteries. Since it comes fully assembled and ready for flight you could even use the remote to raise the helicopter right out of the box!

Unlike the older 2 channel helicopters, the Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter can effortlessly move in 3 channels – up or down; left or right; and even forward or backward! You need never fear those walls or trees again! Thanks to its tiny size and its incredible manoeuvrability it is ideal for indoor flying.

USB Charging

Thanks to the powerful rechargeable batteries in the Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter, a small charge time of no more than 20 – 30 minutes can yield a flight time of up to 8-12 minutes. The model can be recharged using the USB cable provided with it. It runs on a power saving, lightweight Lithium Polymer battery.

The helicopter is equipped with a transmitter which is in alignment with the Trim, along with charging and power. This model also has an indicator, a Left/Right Lever and Trimmer.

Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter

Excellent Manoeuvrability

Perhaps the most amazing feature of the Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter is its manoeuvrability. This little dragonfly of a helicopter has a 3 channel model allowing it to move in absolutely any direction. It can zoom in and out of closets, tease ceiling fans and even be used every so often for a hilarious prank! There really are very nearly no limits to what the Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter can do indoors.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

Comes pre-assembled and requires no flying experience, making it ideal for beginners as well as more experienced flyers.

The coaxial rotor and single rear rotor provide a high level of precision when flying.

The helicopter is durably constructed with a metal body, so it can withstand crashes into walls and other objects.

Can be charged via a USB port or charged with the supplied charger using 6 AA batteries.

Cons:

It takes approximately 50 minutes to fully charge.

It uses IR signals so if you have a lot of objects in your room, this would affect the line of sight from the controller to the helicopter.

It is only suitable for indoor use.

Final Thoughts

The Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter is an excellent RC helicopter. It’s easy to control, very durable and is suitable even for those who are new to flying. The level of manoeuvrability it provides is great, plus it’s quiet in operation so it’s even suitable for environments such as the office. Being pre-assembled means its ready to be flown from the off.

We like that you can charge the helicopter using a USB port, alternatively you can charge it via the controller using 6 AA batteries. The fact that its IR controlled and not controlled via radio means you will not experience any interference from devices in your home which use radio signals.

On the downside it cannot be flown outdoors since even the slightest breeze would set it off. Its powerful battery which gives it so much manoeuvrability indoors is useless in combating the weather.

But even so something this trivial should not phase a true helicopter fan. The Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter is an excellent model to learn the art of helicopter flying or even hone one’s skills whilst in the safety of their own home. The Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter is definitely something any helicopter enthusiast or anyone interested in flying should look into.

Read Consumer Reviews on the Syma S031G RC Helicopter with Lipo battery

When we remember the Syma S107 and the older Syma S032 we are tempted to believe that we had seen the very best, far from it! This model under review has much greater range manoeuvrability and power than its smaller ancestors.

Features
  • 3 Channels
  • 24″ Frame
  • Gyro control for precision control
  • Ideal for outdoor flying
  • Can fly forwards, backward, left and right
  • Features LED Light
  • Li-Po Battery operated for enhanced performance

Syma S031G RC Helicopter with Lipo battery

Large Frame

The Syma S031G RC Helicopter is no ordinary toy helicopter. It is a 3 Channel Helicopter and measures about 24 inches in length.

Li-Po Battery for Enhanced Performance

The powerful new Lipo battery gives the Syma S031G RC Helicopter much greater power and range. Most importantly it increases battery life to make your experience last that much longer and be so much more enjoyable.

Thanks to the new lipo batteries in the Syma S031G RC Helicopter your fun can be extended outdoors even in not very mild climate. Because of the added power, the helicopter can manage strong winds better than most other helicopters of its size, which makes it perfect for new flyers to practice with and earn their spurs as pro pilots.

LED Lights for increased Visibility

New helicopter flyers need not fear losing sight of this helicopter because the Syma S031G RC Helicopter is equipped with bright LED lights which make the helicopter visible wherever it is within its range.

Syma S031G RC Helicopter with Lipo battery

Gyro Controls for Precise and Safe flying

Thanks to its gyro controls, the Syma S031G RC Helicopter is much safer to fly as compared to other more unwieldy helicopter models. Its twenty four inch frame is very conspicuous even at quite a distance and because of its strong aerodynamic design it is much easier to use. This frame is also supported by a strong alloy used to build the model and the unique design renders the Syma S031G as attractive to look at as it is fun to fly.

The extraordinary manoeuvrability of this helicopter allows it to fly forward, reverse and even right and left.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

The gyro control is excellent and requires only very slight trimming.

The alloy structure of the helicopter is very sturdy and robust so it can withstand crashes without being damaged. However, we advise flying near grass and not hard surfaces so the landings will be softer.

The Li-Po battery gives you approximately 12 minutes flying time and also provides enhanced performance.

Cons:

It isn’t suitable for flying in windy weather.

Final Thoughts

The Syma S031G RC Helicopter with Lipo battery Newest Version is definitely something any helicopter enthusiast should take a look at. While a newbie can learn the art of flying, an experienced pilot can hone their skills and perfect their tricks using this very safe, yet very controllable model. This model is certainly the best, or rather the only possible successor to the hugely popular older Syma S031.

If you are new to flying we recommend that you get the Syma S107 first for indoor use, and then later get this one after you have some flying experience.

Although this is a very safe model, it is not suitable for pilots under the age of fourteen. But otherwise this is certainly a helicopter which can tickle anyone’s love for flying.

These easy controls are not just to attract a newbie or two, they also help pros develop their skills and learn new tricks.

Spektrum™ DSM® technology

One thing which sets the Champ RTF apart from its competition is its use of the extraordinary Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM2™. This means that the radio systems used in the Champ RTF are the very same Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM2 technology which is not only trusted but also widely used by many experienced RC pilots all across the globe. The use of this outstanding bit of technology allows you to enjoy absolute and complete freedom from any sort of cumbersome signal interference whenever and wherever you choose to take wings and fly. But if you thought that this is only for rookies and that once you have mastered the art of model aeroplane flying you can abandon the Champ RTF once and for all, think again! The airplane comes pre-assembled and is easy to manoeuvre so it’s ideal for beginners.

It’s very durably constructed so it can withstand crashes.

The Li-Po battery gives you a good 10-15 minutes flight time before it loses power.

The DSM2 radio technology ensures you won’t experience signal interference when operating the plane.

The included controller can be used to control some other planes from ParkZone and Blade.

Cons:

Being light makes the plane sensitive to wind, so it is only suitable for flying in a light breeze, but not stronger winds.

The connectors on the battery are small so you need to be careful when connecting it to the plane.

Final Thoughts

While the Champ RTF is extremely useful for new flyers, it is also excellent for any age group; an 8 year old can have as much fun with it as an 80 year old. This really does make the Champ RTF live up to its name and be a model to have a look at.

We highly recommend the Champ RTF for beginners who are looking for their first RC plane.

Controls are very responsive.

The CX2 comes fully assembled. Everything is included in the box to start flying, including batteries.

Excellent user guide and DVD contain comprehensive detail.

Cons:

The lack of forward flight capability means you cannot fly the CX2 in windy weather.

The fragile construction means you need to be careful not to crash or parts will break. We recommend that you purchase replacement blades for when crashes occur.

Final Thoughts

There aren’t many drawbacks of the Blade CX2 RTF Electric Coaxial Micro Helicopter. It is not very suitable for new flyers. Its powerful frame might be a little too much for anyone without much experience to handle. As it’s rather fragile, it isn’t suitable for outdoor use unless it isn’t windy.

But even so the Blade CX2 RTF is a phenomenal helicopter and definitely worth a look for anyone who wants a stable helicopter primarily for indoor use. The easy learning curve and advanced controls of the Blade CX2 RTF Electric Coaxial Micro Helicopter is something no helicopter lover can ignore!

Blade 120 SR RTF Review

Blade 120 SR RTF

Blade 120 SR RTF

All of us have some kind of inborn urge, living deep down inside, to take wings and fly, but since human beings were not blessed with the gift of flight, the Blade 120 SR RTF is one of closest ways we can actually get there. This extraordinary little helicopter allows its controller to mount up on those long abandoned wings and fly through the world. If not the world, then at least your living room, yes the Blade 120 SR RTF is so easy to control that even a few rounds under the ceiling fan could leave your model relatively unscathed (though one ought to be careful, even the Blade 120 SR RTF does have its limits and crashing this little beauty is definitely something to regret).

Read Consumer Reviews on the Blade 120 SR RTF

The Blade 120 SR RTF comes fully assembled and ready to hover out of the box the moment you get your hands on it. Below are some of the best features of the Blade 120 SR RTF.

Features
  • Sub-Micro Sized
  • Fully factory assembled, ready to fly out of the box
  • Unique rotor head for high stability and agile control
  • Features 5 in 1 control unit

Sub-Micro Size

This sub-micro sized model allows a lot of manoeuvrability and hours of fun thanks to it not being so small that it is unusable outdoors and not too big that it becomes a hazard indoor. Again, a little precaution will go a long way, always be careful indoors and never fly the Blade 120 SR RTF outdoors during bad weather.

Suitable for indoors and outdoors

The Blade 120 SR is a fully functional model, despite being micro size. It is a fixed pitch helicopter which is safe to be flown either indoors or outside, just make sure that the weather is not conniving against you and you and your model will be perfectly safe. The Blade 120 SR RTF is a medium sized model, being neither very small nor flimsy, nor a behemoth of a helicopter. A new pilot or one with very limited experience can manage calm weather or even a gentle breeze, Although more experienced pilots can handle pretty strong winds (that is the beauty of the Blade 120 SR RTF, it is safe and reliable, yet strong and controllable). While the Blade 120 SR RTF can manage calm weather very well, it cannot be stressed enough how important it is to exercise safety when the weather gets rough. In spite of its powerful construction, a powerful breeze can set it off track and a really strong one can cause some very unfortunate accidents.

Durability

The Blade 120 SR RTF can manage a light breeze or even a moderate gust, but cannot handle heavy bursts. It will go out of control and eventually crash if the weather is very bad.

This hardy helicopter can take a few punches, but it will not last forever, too many crashes and it will give heart.

Skill level required

The Blade 120 SR RTF does not require much experience to fly, but isn’t suitable for novice flyers. If you’re a beginner, we recommend you buy a good indoor helicopter such as the Blade MCX2.

On the whole it helps improve flying skills a lot and is an ideal helicopter to progress from flying coaxials.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

Being fully assembled allows you to fly it right out of the box.

The Blade 120 SR RTF has a good, solid body which is very easy to track despite its standard design.

Unlike most helicopters of its size and specifications, the Blade 120 SR RTF is easy to control. Thanks to its unique rotor head it can even hover pretty easily, which is a problem with most other models.

It’s very durable so it can withstand crashes.

Cons:

The tail motors are prone to failure.

Final Thoughts

Although the Blade 120 SR RTF is quite an extraordinary helicopter, it does have its down side. It is easy to misplace the rather small tail motor protective sleeve. Maintenance becomes quite a hazard without it. But if you manage to keep all the parts safe, the Blade 120 SR RTF promises hours of fun for any flying enthusiast and is definitely worth a look at.

This helicopter is ideal if you want to progress from flying coaxials. We highly recommend the 120 SR.
