Jupiter Large Commercial Juice Press Review

Jupiter Large Commercial Juice Press

The most cost effective way of juicing citrus fruits is by using a manual citrus juicer. If you intend to juice citrus fruits on a daily basis then it’s wise to invest in a commercial-grade model that will withstand rigorous use. One of the most affordable commercial models currently in the market is the Jupiter Large Commercial Juice Press. This is a mid-sized juicer made by Orange-X and is suitable for either home or commercial use.

Features

  • Constructed of cast iron and stainless steel
  • Ergonomic rubberized handle
  • Heavy-duty base for high stability
  • Dishwasher-safe removable parts

Heavy-duty Construction

The Jupiter Large Commercial Juice Press is constructed of cast iron and 18/10 stainless steel, ensuring it will withstand regular daily use whether in the home or a commercial setting.

The heavy-duty base has four rubber suction cups which are designed to keep the machine stable during use. However, the suction cups are rather weak which leads to a problem. The footing on the base isn’t long enough, so when you pull down the handle, you need to hold down the rear of the machine so it doesn’t tip over towards you.

Ergonomic Rubberized Handle

The large rubberized handle has been ergonomically designed to give you maximum leverage whist being easy to grip.

Easy Cleanup

There are only two small parts which need cleaning after using the machine, the juicer cone and funnel, so cleanup is very quick and easy. These parts can either be washed by hand under tap water or be put in a dishwasher.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

The Jupiter Large Commercial Juice Press is heavy, robust and extracts a high volume of juice from citrus fruits due to its efficient press mechanism.

Very easy to assemble and use. Plus cleanup is a cinch.

It’s small enough to fit under kitchen cabinets for storage in its collapsed position providing that your cabinet has at least 16” height clearance from your countertop.

Cons:

Due to the short length of the bases feet, the machine has a tendency to tip over towards you whilst you pull down the lever, unless you hold down the rear of the machine. This is only usually a problem when you’re juicing larger citrus fruits because of the greater amount of force needed.

Large citrus fruits don’t get fully juiced due to the size of the cone, so it’s only suitable for small and medium sized citrus fruits.

Due to the high pressure this machine exerts, it can press oils out of the skins of thick skinned fruits which results in juice which has a bitter taste. To prevent this, you need to ensure you don’t squeeze your fruit too hard.

Final Thoughts

The Jupiter Large Commercial Juice Press is up there with the best manual citrus juicers in the market. It has the user-friendliness, durability and efficiency all down. However, the short length of the feet on the base causing the machine to tip forward is an annoying design aspect which you should pay close attention to. Although once you’ve got used to the machines lever mechanism and you’ve properly adjusted the suction feet, this issue is far less apparent.

For its price, we rate this as a good buy unless you intend to juice mostly large or thick skinned citrus fruits. In this case, you should consider other options.
