Breville BJE820XL Dual Disc Juice Processor Review
Breville yet again take their innovation to new levels, this time with the Breville BJE820XL Dual Disc Juice Processor. This model is similar to Breville’s highly popular Juice Fountain Elite model, but comes equipped with a superior feature set albeit at a higher cost.
The standout feature of this commercial grade juicer is that it comes with a puree disc so you can make fruit smoothies or a range of sauces, soups and other healthy dips. Combined with a powerful 1200 watts motor and 5 variable speed settings, this versatile machine promises to be the ultimate 2-in-1 premium juicer which gives you the functionality of a juicer and also a juice processor.
- 1,200 Watt Motor
- 5-speed dial for variable speeds from 6,500 rpm to 13,000 rpm
- Titanium reinforced cutting disc
- Heavy-duty body made of die-cast metal
- 3-inch sized Feed Tube
- Includes 1 litre juice jug and easy clean brush
- Backed by 1-year Replacement Warranty
Breville couldn’t really have made the setup of the Breville BJE820XL any easier. The supplied manual gives you instructions on how to put the parts together in an easy 7-step process. Two discs are included (a juicer disc and a puree disc), allowing you to operate the machine as a juicer or a juice processor.
The Breville BJE820XL is powered by a 1,200 watt motor which is controlled by a 5-speed dial for variable speed from as low as 6,500 rpm up to 13,000 rpm. The low speed is ideal for juicing leafy vegetables and soft fruit. The top speed is ideal for juicing dense fruits and vegetables such as beets or carrots.
3-inch sized Feed Tube
The large 3.3” sized feed tube allows you to feed in fruits and vegetables without needing to chop them up first, minimizing the preparation time required.
Clean up is a breeze due to the way Breville have cleverly designed this machine. The parts are easy to disassemble from the 1200 watt base. All of the parts are safe to wash in the top shelf of your dishwasher. The only part you shouldn’t put in your dishwasher is the filter basket. A cleaning brush is included which allows you to clean the micromesh filter.
Pros and Cons
The Breville BJE820XL functions as both a juicer and also a juicer processor, saving you the space of having two separate machines to handle both tasks.
The 5-speed dial makes it highly versatile for juicing a wide range of produce and getting a dry pulp.
Very well engineered and housed in a die-cast stainless steel body for maximum durability, making it a true commercial grade appliance.
Impressively quiet even on the highest speed setting.
It is very easy and quick to clean.
The appliance is rather tall, being almost 17 inches in height so those with kitchen cabinets positioned fairly low down, may find storage to be a little awkward.
It is only backed by a 1-year warranty.
The Breville BJE820XL Dual Disc Juice Processor is an expensive piece of equipment, but it’s extremely good at what it does. Its robust die-cast steel construction and heavy base give you the confidence that this machine has been built to last. With its 1200 watt motor, this powerful machine has the raw power to handle anything.
The convenience of being able to swap out the juicer disc for a puree disc to make 100% fruit smoothies is very handy. If you don’t need a puree feature for making smoothies and various healthy dips, we recommend you get the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor instead.
Bottom line is, if you need a juicer and you love smoothies, but don’t have a dedicated blender this machine is highly recommended.
