Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter

Small, but Powerful

The Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter measures barely 7.5 inches in length making it one of the smallest, yet most enjoyable of any helicopters available. Its width is also a miniscule 7.5 inches including the main rotors; while its height is only 3.8 inches measured from the bottom to the balance bar.

Despite being a tiny helicopter, this model is a powerful flyer. It can fit into the palm of your hand, but still fly an impressive range using wither the USB cable or a fully functional remote control which runs on 2 AA size batteries. Since it comes fully assembled and ready for flight you could even use the remote to raise the helicopter right out of the box!

Unlike the older 2 channel helicopters, the Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter can effortlessly move in 3 channels – up or down; left or right; and even forward or backward! You need never fear those walls or trees again! Thanks to its tiny size and its incredible manoeuvrability it is ideal for indoor flying.

USB Charging

Thanks to the powerful rechargeable batteries in the Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter, a small charge time of no more than 20 – 30 minutes can yield a flight time of up to 8-12 minutes. The model can be recharged using the USB cable provided with it. It runs on a power saving, lightweight Lithium Polymer battery.

The helicopter is equipped with a transmitter which is in alignment with the Trim, along with charging and power. This model also has an indicator, a Left/Right Lever and Trimmer.

Excellent Manoeuvrability

Perhaps the most amazing feature of the Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter is its manoeuvrability. This little dragonfly of a helicopter has a 3 channel model allowing it to move in absolutely any direction. It can zoom in and out of closets, tease ceiling fans and even be used every so often for a hilarious prank! There really are very nearly no limits to what the Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter can do indoors.

Pros and Cons

Comes pre-assembled and requires no flying experience, making it ideal for beginners as well as more experienced flyers.

The coaxial rotor and single rear rotor provide a high level of precision when flying.

The helicopter is durably constructed with a metal body, so it can withstand crashes into walls and other objects.

Can be charged via a USB port or charged with the supplied charger using 6 AA batteries.

It takes approximately 50 minutes to fully charge.

It uses IR signals so if you have a lot of objects in your room, this would affect the line of sight from the controller to the helicopter.

It is only suitable for indoor use.

Final Thoughts

The Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter is an excellent RC helicopter. It’s easy to control, very durable and is suitable even for those who are new to flying. The level of manoeuvrability it provides is great, plus it’s quiet in operation so it’s even suitable for environments such as the office. Being pre-assembled means its ready to be flown from the off.

We like that you can charge the helicopter using a USB port, alternatively you can charge it via the controller using 6 AA batteries. The fact that its IR controlled and not controlled via radio means you will not experience any interference from devices in your home which use radio signals.

On the downside it cannot be flown outdoors since even the slightest breeze would set it off. Its powerful battery which gives it so much manoeuvrability indoors is useless in combating the weather.

But even so something this trivial should not phase a true helicopter fan. The Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter is an excellent model to learn the art of helicopter flying or even hone one’s skills whilst in the safety of their own home. The Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter is definitely something any helicopter enthusiast or anyone interested in flying should look into.
